1 GAME, 4 MUSEUMS: Have you got what it takes to crack the codes?

Back by popular demand, Cambridge Codebreakers: The Last Secret is a high energy adventure game across four University of Cambridge Museums. With a live leaderboard, refreshed cryptic clues, surprise challenges, and roaming characters your team will have to be curious, cooperative and clever to come out on top.

Loved Codebreakers during the previous sell-out run? Play again to visit the museums you didn’t see last time - and beat your top score.

Dates: Saturdays 10.30am - 12.30pm, 26 May – 30 June

Duration: 2.5 hours

Location: The game will start and end at Cambridge University Centre Wine Bar, Granta Place, Cambridge CB2 1RU. (You can leave bags with us, but at your own risk)

For adults.

Crack the code

The Cambridge Codebreaking Society have recently come into the possession of a curious set of letters. The letters, exchanged between a cryptographer and linguist, span decades. The last references a closely-held secret, but it’s written in an unbreakable code. The code refers to a series of artefacts spread out across space and time. The Society has called upon its finest minds to help them try to crack the code before the answers are lost forever.

But as the secret behind the code becomes apparent, you'll be faced with a moral choice. Sometimes, is it better not to know?

Outwit Your Opponents

You'll have competition from up to twenty other teams of Codebreakers at the same time. There are bonus points for the first team to crack each clue - and, more importantly, not everybody gets every clue at the same time. Keep an eye out. Follow each other. Lay false trails. Stay alert. With a live leaderboard on your phone, you'll know exactly who to watch out for.

Think Quickly, Move Slowly

Cambridge Codebreakers: the Last Secret is based on the hit Citydash game in London - but this time there'll be nobody chasing you (and no running in the museum!). We'll keep the pressure up with twists & turns, surprise clues and timed challenges, but you won't need your running shoes for this one. The game will run across the Fitzwilliam Museum, Museum of Classical Archaeology, Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences and Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Ready? Let’s go!

The Last Secret is designed for adults. No prior knowledge of codebreaking is required. You'll need to be comfortable moving around at walking pace for a couple of hours. You can join individually, or as part of a team (up to 6 players), and be as casual or as competitive as you like.

The game can be made accessible with some small adjustments and we're very happy to help - please let us know upon booking.

Bring a (charged!) smartphone with a data plan.

We'll send you a link to set up your team, along with full details of where to meet and what to expect!

Organising a group? We make it easy - once you have your first ticket we'll send you a special link so your friends can buy their own and join you.
